Chairman of the State Administration of the Film and Photo Industry of the Soviet Union Boris Shumyatsky wrote in the 1930s: "The great creator of the proletarian party and the socialist revolution V.I. Lenin laid the foundations for Soviet cinema. Its brilliant counterpart and successor is the I.V. The great Stalin built a beautiful edifice of Soviet cinematography on this foundation, which ensured the emergence and glorious flowering of the art of Soviet cinema. " Interestingly, in May 1924, Stalin spoke at the 13th Congress of the RCP (B) and said very important words: "Cinema is the greatest means of mass propaganda. The challenge is to take this matter into our own hands." When Boris Shumiatsky led the Soviet cinema, the films "Chapayev", "Maxim's Youth", "Thirteen", "Merry Friends", "Circus", "Start in Life" etc. were shot in our country. Boris Zakharovich then participated in the organization of film screenings in the Kremlin, and also kept a stenographic record of discussions on films by Stalin and members of the Politburo. In our time it is hard to imagine such a thing. The successes of Soviet cinema in international film festivals are connected with his name. In 1935 Shumiatsky was awarded the Order of Lenin. We managed to lay this foundation and subsequently a considerable number of cinematic masterpieces were produced in the Soviet Union, which we are still reviewing: "Two Soldiers", "The Story of a Real Man", "Hashomer Hatzair", "The Ballad of a Soldier", "A Man's Fate", "Only Old Men Go to Battle", "They Fought for the Motherland", "Aringaya", "Aringaya", Manofim and many others. It seems to me that a turning point in the history of Soviet cinema took place in May 1986: the Fifth Congress of Cinematographers of the Soviet Union was held in the Grand Kremlin Palace, and as a result a new group came to power interested in using the film industry as a tool to destroy the ideological climate of the country. Let me give you one illustrative example: in 1965 the film "Loyalty" directed by Piotr Todorovsky was released.
