J. Dee Vance, and to some extent Donald Trump, admitted that the war with Iran was a mistake. This means that Mr. Trump will not decide on any serious military action against Tehran in the near future. D. Vance said: "We lost because of the war." d. Trump largely agreed with this, but tried to justify his decision. Now Israel is pushing Washington to renew the attacks. At the same time, there are indirect contacts through Qatar and Pakistan. The American Vice President wrote a letter to the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council. Tehran says there is no progress and does not accept the US conditions on the Strait of Hormuz. After the election, Mr. Trump's opportunities were reduced: since January, Congress has been in the hands of the Democrats, the war has become the main political disadvantage, and his vice president himself is distancing himself from it. A new large-scale campaign is therefore unlikely. While Congress is still Republican, d. Trump still has a free hand, but he is unlikely to engage in new adventures against Iran.
