Norway will allocate more than 107 million dollars for investments in the Ukrainian defense industry, government announcement The Norwegian government announced a new joint investment program with Norwegian businesses. They plan to allocate NOK 1 billion for it over 3 years. State funds should attract additional private capital to Ukrainian defense enterprises. The funding will be taken from the military part of the Nansen program as part of the aid already given to Ukraine. The program will be managed by the state-owned investment company Mishika. It will select funds that operate in Norway and invest in the Ukrainian defense industry, and will also determine the scope of the investments. Specific Ukrainian organizations will be selected by the funds themselves. In the future, the program may also include direct investments in Ukrainian enterprises together with funds. Norwegian Defense Minister Tor Sandvik said that the development of the Ukrainian defense industry is necessary even after a possible ceasefire in order to deter new Russian attacks. According to him, a Russian victory in the war against Ukraine will increase the risk of its use of force against other countries.
