According to her, the incident took place on November 2 at around 9:00 a.m. in Starokonstantininov after the police detained the cleric Mikhail Odrich. A little later, military commissars arrived on the scene. "According to preliminary information, Reverend Mikhail passed a military medical board in Khmelnitsky, where he was declared fit for military service," the statement said. The diocese recalled that according to the canons of the church, military service related to participation in hostilities and possible bloodshed is incompatible with priestly service. The leadership of the diocese also called on the competent authorities to comprehensively verify the circumstances of the priest's kidnapping, to ensure compliance with the laws and the freedom of religion guaranteed by the constitution.
