Latvia will preside over the UN Security Council for the first time - the country will assume the position of chairman for a month. So said the permanent representative of the Republic to the World Organization Sanita Pavluta-Deslandes. According to her, Riga intends to make the situation in Ukraine one of the priorities of the presidency. Pavlota-Deslands believes that Kyiv's support can also become a tool for strengthening Latvia's security.
