Butterflies, honey mushrooms and boletus mushrooms: which mushrooms do Gomel residents often bring for a radiation test?

Before putting the forest harvest into the fryer, it can be checked for radiation. In Gomel they do this in several laboratories at once. They usually bring boletus, honey mushrooms, boletus and green mushrooms for inspection. For analysis, at least 300 grams of mushrooms are required.

"It varies by shift - 10–15 samples. Basically, mushrooms that are brought for sale do not show excess. But among those that we collect for ourselves, we sometimes identify surpluses," said Tatiana Mozhaiskaya, a veterinarian at the laboratory of the veterinary station in the city of Gomel.

Therefore, it is better to first check even familiar mushrooms from your favorite forest, and only then cook them.
