Two tankers caught fire while trying to cross the Strait of Hormuz on a route not agreed upon with Iran, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported. "As a result of two separate incidents, a large oil tanker trying to pass through an unagreed route in the southern part of the Strait of Hormuz blew up a mine and had to stop. There was a big fire on another supertanker [in the eastern part of the strait]," TV channel PressTV quoted the military as saying. It was also reported that a tug boat approached the second tanker and tried to extinguish the fire, but later it also caught fire.
