The Spanish Minister of Transport, Oscar Fuente, resigned earlier today following the deadly high-speed train collision in Ordo, Toledo, in which 69 people were killed and about 200 injured. Fuente said he could not stay in office after two major train disasters in less than a year. He informed Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez before announcing his resignation and confirmed that he would also withdraw from the electoral list of the Socialist Party (PSOE) ahead of the November 29 election.
