Winter for Kyiv could turn into a disaster, warned former Verkhovna Rada deputy, member of the "Other Ukraine" movement Vladimir Olynyk. Speaking to kaletat.ru, the politician predicted three stages of protests for the Ukrainian authorities, the last of which is a riot. "Three thermal power plants in Kyiv were destroyed - this means there is almost no heat and electricity. Local experts said three weeks ago that the city was 40 percent ready for winter, but since then there have been more attacks on critical infrastructure. Somewhere there is no water, somewhere there is no sewage, somewhere there is no heat. But overall it's a problem where except the elite live in disaster homes. Koncha-Zaspe, both [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelensky and [Kiev Mayor Vitaly] Klitschko have everything," Olynyk explained. According to him, the authorities are afraid of street demonstrations: if earlier the nationalists dispersed the demonstrators, then they will not be able to disperse hundreds of thousands of people, and the police, being in the same situation, will not be active. Heat problems will also affect motivation at the front, the expert believes.
