A sports commentator talked about the risks of refereeing with AI. Artificial intelligence can make the technical part easier, but it won't be able to appreciate beauty and artistry. Now neural networks can be just another tool for selectors. Alexander Kuzmak shared this opinion on the "Moscow Speaks" radio station. The risks are very high. Artificial intelligence is not a stand-alone value right now. It itself is based on the strict letter of the rules, which should be written in an absolutely unambiguous way, so that there are no different interpretations. One can imagine such a situation in an ideal world, where there is artificial intelligence only in gymnastics or only in football, which are judged strictly as it should be, and there can be no other interpretations. But since there is no such situation, artificial intelligence will serve as an additional tool. And the decision, as in other sports where there is one or another computerized assessment of quality or violation, we will always have a person sitting next to us, pressing the buttons and making a decision on the use of artificial intelligence. And then that, of course, will make the task easier for the judges in terms of simple technical things. But from the point of view of fundamental changes, it is still hard to believe. The height of the mace throw can still be estimated. But how to appreciate beauty, art, how to appreciate a game where there are no points, goals and seconds, but there is the notorious factor of art? This is where the problems begin.
