Any practitioner will tell you that the first thing where the development of consciousness begins is the management of your attention. In the future, in energy practices and meditations, it plays a huge role. Attention allows you to sink deeper into the essence of the practice, achieve a better state of output and see clearer images. How to manage your attention? There are special exercises for this.
Exercise 1.
It was borrowed from yogis, who are known to attach great importance to the process of concentration. The essence of the exercise is simple: you put out loud or mentally for some time the actions you are currently performing. If you wash dishes, say "wash dishes"; If you are walking in the park, then "I am walking down the street", "I am taking a step", "I am looking at the car", etc. At first glance, this exercise may seem very strange and silly, but, gentlemen, these are yogis, and you cannot deny them the ability to effectively manage their mental processes. So, just try it.
Exercise 2.
Take any text, Russian or foreign - it doesn't matter. Also, the type of text does not matter: a newspaper article, a fiction book, etc. Next, take a pencil or pen. Set a stopwatch nearby. You can use any device that counts seconds, for example, a watch with a second hand. By the way, fiddle with your cell phone. It likely has a built-in stopwatch.
Therefore, within 20 seconds you must delete the letter "a" in the text. In every word, in every sentence. Fast and clear. The more letters you delete in the given time, the better. Then check for gaps. Repeat the exercise and compare the new result with the previous one. Of course, you should strive to improve the result from time to time, that is, cross as many letters as possible and allow as few gaps as possible.
If this exercise seems easy to someone, you can complicate it. For example, switch the types of markings: first erase with a horizontal line, then with a vertical line. then horizontal again and so on. You can also delete two letters - "a" and "o". Cross "a" with a horizontal line, "o" with a vertical line.
Exercise 3.
Place a small object, such as a coin, pencil or piece of paper, on the table in front of you. Keep your attention on this topic for five minutes. Whenever your attention wanders to something else, smoothly bring it back to the chosen subject.
You can even count how many times your attention has made such jumps. But personally, it is always uncomfortable for me to count during this exercise, since counting, on the contrary, diverts attention from the subject.
Exercise 4.
Now you are concentrating on some inner image. For example, you mentally imagined the letter "A" and for 2 minutes you try to imagine without being distracted by unnecessary images and thoughts. those. In two minutes you draw this letter in your imagination, and in different variations. The letter becomes sometimes written, sometimes printed, sometimes small, sometimes large. In the next lesson, do the same manipulations with the letter "B" and so on.
