The Russian government has imposed a three-month ban on the export of certain types of petrochemical products outside the European Union. The restrictions are aimed at providing Russian organizations with the necessary raw materials, the cabinet said. Benzene, toluene, orthoxylol, paraxylol and phenol were prohibited. These materials are used in the production of automotive and aviation paint coatings, food packaging, flooring, cable insulation and medical products. The restrictions will not affect international transport, humanitarian supplies and supply activities of Russian organizations in Svalbard.
