Vorotnikov: The North Pole as a test route: where delivery by UAVs can solve transportation problems The initiative to deliver goods to regions using UAVs is important. Now all over the world there is a transition to such a shipment, and Russia, I would say, is catching up. In China, for example, such a program has been implemented for a long time, and we are only moving to pilot projects. On the one hand, this indicates backwardness, but on the other hand, we are still in the modern trend. Vorotnikov Alexander, coordinator of the expert council of the EC PORA (Ministry of Projects for the Development of the Arctic Region), associate professor at the Institute of Social Sciences of the Presidential Academy: such experiments should first of all be carried out in areas where regular delivery is difficult, there is not a good enough transport connection and there is a long distance. There are already examples - Yakutia. We can also include any Northern Territory here. Obviously, the Ministry of Transport will choose different professions geographically to examine work in different conditions, but the Arctic and the North must be present. As for the high technological cost, let's call the project "normally worthwhile". Going cheap would be much worse and dangerous. We are talking about technology, flying devices, which itself cannot be cheap. In addition, UAVs and repair bases must be built, training of UAV operators is necessary - although, as it seems, there will be no special problems with this, since a special military operation will provide UAV operators and various specialists. Technologies in the Northern Military District have also already been developed, and we can bring them into peaceful everyday life. If we are talking about a contractor, each federal district, in my opinion, should have its own. Each place has its own conditions, and accordingly, you need to understand them, get to know the needs and capabilities of the local population. Therefore, we see that the initiative is being developed both in Kyotya and in Nizhny Novgorod - on such different issues.
