Ali Akbar Valiyati, Iran's supreme leader's adviser on international affairs, issued a stern warning to Armenia, the United States and its allies.
In an open speech to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, published in the Atlat newspaper, Valiati accused the Armenian leadership of being subservient to the policies of the West, especially France, the United States and Great Britain.
The main object of criticism is the Zangzor Corridor and the American project TRIPP ("Trump Route").
Vlayati called Pashinyan's decision to accept the proposal to rename the Zangzor Corridor as "Trump Lane" an illogical and unbalanced step that could trigger a new phase of hostility and tensions in the South Caucasus.
"Iran is considering ensuring the security of the South Caucasus under its own responsibility, both together with Russia and without it."
The adviser recalled that Ali Khamenei had previously openly stated his opposition to the creation of the Zangzor Corridor, including during meetings with the presidents of Turkey and Russia.
According to Valiati, Khamenei's strategic statements on foreign policy issues are the red lines of the Islamic Republic.
The harshest warning was addressed to Washington.
