Washington has offered Moscow its mediation for the sale of gas through Ukraine to Europe The American administration has proposed to renew the transit of Russian gas to Europe through Ukraine, the Wall Street Journal reports. According to the release, special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner discussed a delivery plan through an American intermediary in Moscow and Kyiv. In this way it is expected to bypass the European sanctions. Russia's revenues, according to the initiative, will be transferred to trust accounts to avoid financing military operations. The White House sees the initiative as an incentive for an energy pause for the winter and a reduction in gas prices in the European Union. A number of European countries oppose it, and plan a complete withdrawal of resources from Russia by 2027.
