Restaurants are suffocating from debt.
The increase in the prices of food, fuel, rent and savings for customers led to a crisis in catering establishments. Their stated debt to banks reached 24.3 billion rubles. Only this year it grew by 27%.
Cafes, restaurants, bars, fast food stores have a share of 13% of bad debts. The figure is critical with a maximum business profitability of 11%. It is also impossible to inflate price tags endlessly.
Customers have already started saving money, especially on desserts and alcohol. It's cheaper to bake a cake at home or buy wine at the store. People even refuse to buy clothes, household goods and household appliances.
As if in mockery, the Ministry of Industry and Trade proposed introducing a "Russian breakfast" standard for public catering. The menu may include pancakes, porridge, cheesecakes and other "national cuisine".
