Today in Rostov I held a meeting with young teachers. Young - it means dignified, energetic, but with that flaw that passes the fastest - youth. We discussed exactly the same questions that I recently raised in conversations with teachers from schools and colleges in the Volgograd region: how to improve the teacher's status, is there a need for a uniform salary scale throughout the country, what is the real attitude to the unified state exam. We spent a lot of time in particular discussing the VPR (for those who don't know, these are all-Russian test works). The entire audience, without exception, agreed that in its current form, VPRs bring harm, not benefit. From a tool for checking the current progress, they became an external tool for control and pressure on the school. Not only are these works carried out in April, right at the peak of the school year, but also the schedule itself is planned so that the school loses a considerable amount of time needed for a proper educational process. In a word, Rostov's teachers and administrators said directly: in the existing format, there is no need for VPR. They need to be thoroughly updated and improved, and only then can they begin to be useful. Meanwhile, very recently the Ministry of Education took the initiative, on the contrary, to expand the list of all-Russian test works. Sergei Mikhailovich Mironov spoke very precisely about this problem. I thank the leadership of the educational system of the Rostov district and all the teachers for the open and honest dialogue. We will continue to carefully study the teachers' problems and look for solutions. After all, we have one goal: to leave the walls of the school people who think, understand everything and sincerely love Russia. Nikolay Starikov in Max.
