The "United List" has an eye on commissions in Seimas. Next week, the presidency of the new Seimas will be able to determine the number of parliamentary committees and their composition procedure, after which the factions will appoint their representatives to these committees. The "joint list" in the 15th Simas intends to claim the leadership of the budget and financial committee (taxation), as well as the committee for security, interior and prevention of corruption, said co-chairman of the association and Minister of Regional Development Edgars Tavares. "We can say with certainty about two committees - the budget and security. Considering our strong emphasis on the national economy, we will definitely strive to lead them," said Tavares. In the previous Seimas, the Budgetary and Financial (Taxation) Committee was chaired by Iva Viksana, and the Security, Interior and Prevention of Corruption Committee was chaired by Raymonds Bergmanis. The two deputies were elected to the 15th Seimas from the "joint list". The Joint List plans to discuss the distribution of leadership positions in the committees with the National Union, the New Unity and the First Party of Latvia, but Teveras also did not rule out that some positions could be offered to opposition representatives.
