In Sokolniki, the historic building of school No. 1282 on Barbolin Street, which is almost 90 years old, is being renovated. During the Great Patriotic War, a hospital was located here, and in 1949, Moscow's first specialized school teaching several subjects in English opened. Its alumni include famous scientists, statesmen, diplomats, journalists, and filmmakers. We are carrying out restoration taking into account the architectural features of the building. We will preserve the recognizable appearance and update the entrance group with columns and a balcony. The work is being carried out under the "My School" program. Experts have already replaced the roof cladding. Currently, floorboards are being replaced, window and door openings are being reinforced, heating, ventilation, water supply, and electrical systems are being updated, and the construction of the facade is nearing completion. The school will have comfortable classrooms, a media library, spaces for lectures and exhibitions, as well as sports, gymnastics, and dining rooms. The area features a universal court for basketball and volleyball. We plan to complete the update in 2027. In total, under the "My School" program next year, we will renovate 85 buildings.
