Cyber security authorities in Spain have identified jihadist messages encouraging terrorist attacks against police officers and protesters in France, Spain, Italy and Portugal.
The messages, published on a website linked to supporters of the Islamic State (ISIS), urge extremists to take advantage of mass demonstrations, street clashes and civil unrest to carry out attacks.
France is particularly highlighted as a potential destination because of the large crowds that gather on its streets. Police officers engaged in riot control are also identified as potential targets.
