Yemen's Houthis launch an email registration system for safe passage of ships in the Red Sea.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Yemen's Houthi movement has launched a new email-based system to screen requests from ships seeking safe passage in the Red Sea. Accordingly, ship captains are required to provide details of their vessel and declare that it does not belong to the United States, Great Britain, Israel and Saudi Arabia. Houthi officials usually respond to these requests within 24 hours, issuing 7-day transit permits along with navigation instructions.
