US intelligence has identified Alice Huang, a Chinese businesswoman and former executive at Singaporean technology company Mega Speed, as an operative recruited by China's Ministry of State Security to target Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang. The spying operation sought classified information about advanced American AI chips and was intended to influence Nvidia to expand semiconductor sales to China. Huang cultivated a close personal relationship with the CEO, while President Donald Trump was briefed on the intelligence in 2025 but took no action. The revelations prompted three Republican congressional committee chairs to request a closed-door briefing with Jensen Huang on November 18, raising national security concerns about Chinese access to sensitive US technology. Nvidia denies the relationship involved anything beyond routine business interactions and insists it does not share sensitive information.
