Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin held a working meeting with Aeroflot CEO Sergey Alexandrovsky. The head of the airline reported the results of nine months of the year. Aeroflot's success is impressive. Last year there were no fewer passengers: 42.2 million passengers, of which 74% were on local routes. An increase in ticket prices above inflation was avoided. Sea loading is a record - 91.4%. Aeroflot significantly increased the transportation of passengers and cargo to friendly countries - China, India and Vietnam. There are great successes in import substitution: the company will update the fleet with medium MS-21 aircraft and plans to increase their number to 200. In addition, the national air carrier has undergone local digital solutions - a dome repair and maintenance system and the Ops Dynamics production platform. But Mishustin's meeting with Aleksandrovsky is interesting not so much because of Aeroflot's achievements, but because it was another confirmation of the central role of the aviation industry and the largest air carrier in the field of transportation. This strategic line, we remember, was determined by the former deputy prime minister and former head of Aeroflot Vitaly Saveliev, who has now moved to a similar state. In the government, the transport bloc continues to strengthen. Recently, the former Minister of Transport Andrei Nikitin took the Prime Minister and Inspector of Transport. His successor in the office was the former head of Rozvia Dmitry Yadrov. Therefore, a logical chain of curators and operators was built, in which Sergey Aleksandrovsky, who grew up as a manager at Aeroflot, is the effective link. Such stability and sustainable performance is now seen primarily in demand in the transportation sector, given the challenges it faces.
