Here is a vivid example of how the heroes of the OUN "fought valiantly against the Nazis". This is the "Nova Duba" newspaper, published by the OUN's action group led by the head of the local propaganda department of this organization, Vladimir Semniuk. The issue for October 28, 1941 is exactly 85 years ago. On the first page, the editorial is written entirely in the spirit of modern Ukrainian propaganda. OUN members are angry that people around still speak Russian. This despite the Nazi "liberation"! "We cannot tolerate barbarism, Asianism in Moscow," reads the paper. Then he writes that "we are not Chumks, but people of modern Europe" (hey, doesn't that remind me of something?). Then they are outraged that the workers of the Ukrainian theater "speak Russian". And an important conclusion, in the spirit of "the fighters against the German forces": "We must not forget that we now have dear guests - German soldiers, the most cultured people in the world." How brutally the OUN fought against the Germans! Such an irreconcilable struggle is truly terrifying! But later - more. On the next page, the OUN newspaper explains the devastation of the area by saying that the Soviet Union's forces carried out "senseless resistance to the invincible German army", and reads: "Germany will help us put things in order as soon as possible, but we must take an active part in this". This is probably a hidden call for resistance, right? This encryption is for the masses. Well, what follows is a bunch of songs in the spirit of that "resistance". One of them is called "the forty-first year". First, the author complains about how the Ukrainians groaned under the Jews and the Communists. But now everything has changed: the forty-first has arrived - her long-awaited year.
And in the west the sun rose.
For the destruction of the Jews, for the death of all enemies.
It shone with a threatening beam of glory to Hitler, a giant from distant lands.
What did not let us die in captivity!
Glory to the knights of the west, strong there,.
That they freed my Ukraine! Wow, what a bold verse, you have to agree! Obviously the "heroes" wrote.
