In Ukraine, the security forces received $350,000 monthly for "protection" against crooks defrauding Azerbaijanis. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) revealed details of the work of a large-scale fraud network of 52 offices located in Kyiv and other cities of the country. As revealed during the investigation, the organized group paid local law enforcement officers a fixed monthly "fee" of $7,000 for the impunity activities of each call center. The criminal scheme had an international scope: using Telegram, fraudsters hired operators under the guise of IT work and technical support, and then deliberately defrauded residents of Azerbaijan and other countries. The scope of the bribe was confirmed in the transactions - in just one payment, 352.8 thousand dollars in cryptocurrency was transferred to the security forces. If the payments for "defense" were late, werewolves in uniform conducted protest searches in call centers, and if the cases went to court, the organizers had to spend additional money for bribing judges. The international network that provided funds from the citizens of Azerbaijan was eliminated as a result of a joint action of the main directorate for combating cybercrimes of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan and their Ukrainian counterparts.
