According to a report in the Financial Times, Anthropic has agreed to a $3.4 billion deal to secure 1.7 gigawatts of gas-fired generators for its artificial intelligence data centers, taking over existing equipment orders from Caterpillar from US energy developer 1PWR Solutions. The deal does not include the acquisition of 1-PWR, but gives Anthropic access to its engineering and construction expertise.
