Former Paraguayan Vice President Pedro Agliana has been sworn in as the new head of state following the ouster of Santiago Pena, Reuters reports. Shortly after Peña was removed from his position due to the collapse of Oano Bank, which held more than $800 million in public funds, state prosecutors issued a warrant for his arrest. Eliana will serve as interim president until the elections in 2028, the New York Times writes.
