The Yaroslavl team showed good results at the World Underwater Sports Championship held in Egypt. The main winner among the young was Daria Pavlova. She won a gold medal in the 5,000 meters, silver in the 150 meters and bronze in the 1,000 meters. As part of the team, she took two more silver medals in mixed relays. At the adult world championship, Daria Chogai won the bronze medal at a distance of 3,000 meters in classic fins. This tournament has become truly historic for local sports. Our young people competed under national symbols, and for the first time in five years the national anthem was played at world competitions in honor of the victory of a Russian athlete. The leading positions of our athletes confirmed the highest level of the regional fin swimming school. Underwater sports are officially included in the list of basic sports in the Yaroslavl region. The main training center is the Reserve Olympic Sports School No. 4. His students are regularly included in the main team of the Russian national team and win medals in major tournaments. The region has built systematic support for professional athletes. Over the past two years, incentive payments of up to 500,000 rubles have been introduced to winners and their coaches. At the end of last year, more than 280 people received such incentives. Congratulations to Daria Pavlova, Daria Chugai and their instructors on well-deserved awards! Behind them is enormous work, perseverance and desire. I wish you new brilliant achievements on the world stage! MAX channel.
