Complaints against banks and microfinance institutions to the ombudsman rose sharply in the third quarter of 2026. Banks received 12,448 inquiries - 2.3 times more than the previous year. MFOs accounted for 5,879 complaints, representing an immediate increase of 5.3 times. Total application flow increased by 42.6% to 58,089. One of the main reasons for disputes is paid additional services when applying for loans. Borrowers demand the return of money written off from them and claim they could not freely refuse the attached services. When unchecking consent to paid options, the loan button, according to customer complaints, became inactive. This practice turns a formally voluntary service into an obstacle to receiving money. The person either agrees to extra expenses or is unable to complete the loan application. The particularly rapid growth of inquiries to microfinance organizations shows how acute the issue of imposed payments is in the short-term lending sector. ΞKONOMICON
