Russian developers are increasingly offering discounts on apartments in the mass sector in new buildings. The share of such offers reached 40% in the country and 44% in the Moscow region. The reason is the weakening of demand due to expensive mortgages, which limits the options of buyers. If full payment is made, the developers are willing to reduce the price by 15-20%. There are also targeted sales support programs. The conditions depend on the method of purchase: the most notable discount is intended for those who can manage without a mortgage loan. The scope of the problem extends beyond individual stocks. About 45% of the housing that has already been built in Russia remains unsold. With such a volume of finished apartments, developers have to compete for buyers who are able to make a deal without a long wait. The distribution of the discounts reflects a change in the market situation: the entrepreneurs are forced to give up the prices in order to turn the built-in counters into actual sales. The high cost of borrowed money continues to limit demand.
