🔶 New US sanctions against Cuba; increasing pressure on Chinese companies.

The United States announced new sanctions against Cuba on Thursday, November 5. These sanctions target the oil and electronics industry in this country.

According to the announcement of the US State Department, for the first time two Chinese electronics companies were added to the list of sanctions: the National Electronics Import and Export Company of China (Ceiec China) and the "Beijing H&C Technologies" company.

The United States accuses these two companies of selling electronic and security equipment and parts to the Cuban military.

The US State Department said in its statement that the "ruling elites" in Cuba have taken over the energy resources and maritime transport and "are leaving the people alone in the face of power outages, fuel shortages and economic crisis".

The statement continued: "The Cuban regime relies on a network of intermediaries abroad to maintain this system."
