Today's Note: Haft Koen's Foreign Trade; The third reader How to ensure foreign trade and return export currency to Iran's economic cycle? Dr. Daoud Daneshjafari; member of the faculty of Alma Tabatbai University One of the main issues of Iran's foreign trade is the difference between receiving money by the exporter and returning the exported currency to the economic cycle to supply imports. In this process, in addition to the foreign exporter and buyer, the central bank is considered the third player responsible for foreign exchange policy and monitoring the fulfillment of foreign exchange obligations. Returning currency does not necessarily mean a physical transfer of bills, but also includes valid use of foreign exchange earnings to finance imports. To achieve this goal, there are different methods; Including direct bank clearing under the supervision of the central bank, indirect clearing through a trust or exchange agent, allocation of the right to use the exporter's foreign exchange earnings to other importers (exports versus imports) and clearing of goods and services. The desired role of the central bank is to provide the infrastructure for monitoring and clearing and transferring transactions to the banks, and its direct and extensive intervention is not recommended. The direct connection between export and import is an effective approach to recovering export revenues, the success of which depends on the transparency of information, collection of claims and credit of the settlement agents.
