pasture for the soul.
How to deal with obsessive and disturbing thoughts?
If you try to forcefully stop your mind or push the anxiety away, you will only start a war with yourself and throw yourself off even more. Calming the mind by force is like smoothing the waves with your hands.
The best way to control the mind is to give it a wide pasture.
It's like with a cow: if you lock it in a crowded pen, it will start to get angry, get stuck and break the fence. And if you release her to a spacious green meadow, she will calmly nibble on the grass. All you have to do is watch her from a distance without losing her. She won't get angry because she doesn't feel cramped.
Do the same with your worries: don't fight them, don't argue, but don't follow them. Give them a place for calm observation - and without encountering resistance, the thoughts will dissolve by themselves.
