Look straight to the source.
Throw a stick or a stone to the dog and he will run as fast as he can after the thrown object. She will bark furiously at him, bite him with her teeth and tear him to pieces, thinking that this stone is the source of her suffering.
Throw a stone at a lion and the lion won't even look in the direction of the flying stone. He will look straight at the one who abandoned him.
Most people behave like stupid dogs every day: when an insult, a sideways glance or a daily failure comes their way, they rush towards that object in fury. For years they chew on other people's hurtful words, argue with circumstances and fight with consequences.
Be like a lion: do not chase after the stones of the outer world thrown at you. Look directly at the source - at your mind, which decides whether to suffer or remain untouched.
