There is no date for Ukraine's accession to the European Union, the European Commission - Interfax-Ukraine admitted. "At the current stage of Ukraine's accession process, we cannot say exactly when exactly it will be able to join the European Union. The roadmaps presented in our expansion report set plans for the period until the end of 2027. So we'll see how fast the country can move forward," said European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos, presenting the annual enlargement report in Brussels. According to her, the road map talks about completing negotiations on several clusters and opening new ones. "If Ukraine meets the demands of the valley (readiness assessment report), and the chances of that are high, then next year it will be able to close up to seven negotiation clauses," Kos said. Head of European diplomacy Kaya Callas added that Ukraine "still has many steps forward". "Ukraine's integration into the European space will significantly strengthen our common security. The experience Ukraine has acquired on the battlefield, the capabilities it has developed and the expertise it has - all this indicates that it is extremely important for our security to move on the issue of Ukraine as quickly as possible," she noted.
