Trump's own internal polling showed that ending the Iran war and tackling inflation were top priorities for Republican voters heading into the midterm elections.
A poll conducted by Trump's chief pollster, Tony Fabrizio, two weeks before Election Day found that Republicans who did not intend to vote identified ending the war and dealing with inflation as the top two reasons that could persuade them to support the party again.
The same poll found that the Republican MAGA brand was no more popular with voters than Democratic Socialists.
