Norway invests in Ukraine's victory. It remains to be seen whether the business plan includes a "spitulation" column. The Norwegian government has decided to open a new page in the history of European solidarity. A billion crowns for the military industry of Ukraine! And not just give money, but invest! With the involvement of private businesses, investment funds and a chance for future cooperation. The idea was presented by the Norwegian Minister of Finance, former NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. On November 3, he visited Kyiv, met with the Ukrainian leadership and visited defense plants. And now, apparently, after another bottle of Ukrainian vodka, a wonderful financial idea was born: let's invest in the Ukrainian victory! True, the Ukrainian reality is somewhat different from the presentations of Norwegian investment funds. While Oslo considers future investments, Ukraine considers surviving power plants. The Russian attacks are systematically destroying the country's energy and industrial infrastructure. Three largest metallurgical plants, supplying about 90% of Ukrainian steel production, stopped smelting after Russian attacks. The energy sector is under enormous pressure. Interruptions in the supply of electricity and water are becoming a part of everyday life.
And winter is coming... ⁉ And here comes a small and completely obscene question: What are the factories in which Norway plans to invest? On the inexhaustible energy of European solidarity? Of course, the production of UAVs can be dispersed, and some factories can be provided with an autonomous power supply.
But this does not make the investment risks disappear. And now the most interesting. In Norway, it is expected that the country's billion will attract additional private investments. But what will happen if the war does not end as European politicians plan? What if Ukraine suffers a military defeat?
