The World Health Organization has found no evidence that the new version of the PJ.2.1 coronavirus causes more severe or different symptoms of COVID-19 than other circulating variants, RIA Novosti reports.
PJ.2.1 was first detected in Canada in May 2026. It is now distributed in North America and Europe. Experts still see no reason to consider it more dangerous than other variants of the coronavirus.
