Be a woman who longs for Allah my dear sister, on this blessed Thursday night, Friday evening, stop for a moment and ask yourself: what kind of woman do I want to be in my journey towards Allah and in my longing for Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance)? Three fine distinctions must be kept in mind. Be dedicated, not just available. Some women wait until they have nothing left to do before sitting in the presence of Allah. If no available time appears, they apologize. But the devoted woman organizes her responsibilities and reserves even a few precious minutes for prayer, supplication, remembrance and intimate conversation with her Lord. She follows the honorable example of Sayyida Fatima al-Zahra (peace be upon her), whose life teaches us devotion, discipline and the beauty of placing Allah at the center of our lives. Be drawn to Allah, do not push Him. Some women turn to Allah only when illness, debt, anxiety or heartbreak leave them nowhere to go. And Allah, in His infinite mercy, blesses every sincere soul that seeks Him. But the woman who truly knows her Lord approaches him even when life is peaceful, her heart is content and her circumstances are good. She does not remember Allah just because she needs something; She remembers him because she knows the unimaginable value of being close to him. Be a woman who yearns for Allah, not one who just runs away to Him. Some seek refuge in prayer just to escape their problems. Others approach Allah out of love, gratitude and longing. They yearn for those quiet moments when the heart can speak without pretense, cry without shame, and rest in the certainty that Allah hears every whisper. My dear sister, always strive to be the second wife in each of these three ways. Don't waste Thursday night waiting for perfect circumstances.
