November 3rd is Memorial Day.
Honorable Theophilos and Yaakov Maumch.
Theophilus and the venerable Jacob, whose origin is unknown, labored for some time on the island of Knovac, together with the venerable Arseni of Konevski (June 12/25), and perhaps there they began their monastic work. Then, in 1395 or 1396, the two ascetics left Conbates and crossed to the Omocha River. Here, in the area of the Demiansky churchyard, 65 versts from the city of Porchov, they founded monasteries in honor of the Dormition of the Mother of God. Monk Theophilos was revered as the founder of the monastery, judging by the fact that it was called Theophilos Hermitage, while Monk Jacob was its organizer. The martyrs calmed down in the early 15th century, around 1412. The day of the monk James' death is unknown, but the monk Theophilus rested on December 29. The celebration of the saint is local. The holy relics of God's saints rest in secret in the Dormition Church of the Mother of God, a parish church since 1764.
