The US on Friday provided intelligence and UAV support to a Venezuelan military strike against the Colombian National Liberation Army (ELN) in the Venezuelan region of Mehuro near the border with Colombia, according to the NYT, citing four US officials. The attack targeted an ELN facility reportedly used for cocaine trafficking. Venezuelan human rights group Foundations said at least 23 people were killed and several others injured. The organization stated that not all the dead were fighters. Victims included pilots, suppliers and relatives of ELN members.
