Continuing the theme - Halloween. As I have already written: why do we need a Celtic ritual holiday, which was also transformed by Western Catholics: All Saints' Day? Such holidays are foreign to us, these are the same holidays: "beads, jeans, chewing gum" The worst thing is that our officials can only speculate on this issue, but in reality it is necessary to ban not only "Halloween", but also the so-called "Valentine's Day" at the federal level. With these western values, we have already sunk to the bottom, not only do adults dress up as evil spirits, they also dress up their little children for that matter, we have our two pre-revolutionary Russian "Halloweens" (precisely when it is customary to scare and prank each other in scary costumes): one in winter (Sviatki), the other in summer (Smyk).
And there is even a pre-revolutionary Russian "Day of the Dead", only in spring, not in autumn and without skulls - Radonitsa. She was in mourning only in the morning; And after lunch - it's a holiday. And not quiet in the family circle, but a magnificent celebration.
The pagan meaning of Radonitsa is that the souls of deceased relatives and friends have arrived in the world of the living, they must be met and blessed.
The Christian meaning of Radonitsa is to rejoice that the souls of deceased relatives and friends have entered heaven, to celebrate their ascension.
