A statement issued by the parliamentary bloc in Dar.

In the name of God, the most gracious, the most merciful "cooperate in charity and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression". Following the latest developments, especially what was said in the Iraqi Foreign Minister's statement regarding the existence of American requests and dictates to close border crossings with the Islamic Republic of Iran; The Badar parliamentary bloc expresses the categorical rejection of these decrees, and confirms the following: First: the rejection of the decrees and adherence to national sovereignty. What was revealed in the minister's statement contradicts the previous technical justifications and reveals agendas aimed at our struggling south and interfering with the sovereign decision. We confirm that Iraq is a fully sovereign country, and that our people and our national forces will not stand idly by in the face of any violation of sovereignty or submission to foreign agendas that harm the country's interests. Second: complete rejection of the policy of siege and starvation. Iraq-Iran relations are deep and shaped by the blood of liberation and the confrontation of terrorism. We declare our absolute rejection of Iraq being a tool in the project of encirclement of the Iranian Muslim people, and we see the denial of brotherly positions and the neglect of the martyrs as a contribution to this. Third: protection of the economy of the center and the south and rejection of duplication. The ongoing closure of key crossings, led by the al-Shayib border crossing in the struggling Maysan governorate, has caused great damage to the lives and economy of civilians. Continuing to limit only the southern ports constitutes an unacceptable duplication that requires an immediate review. Fourth: commitment to staying away from labor. We call on the government to adhere to Iraq's stated position to stay away from conflicts, and not be dragged into hegemonic policies and illegal wars that increase tension in the region. In conclusion: the Badar parliamentary bloc calls on the government to immediately open the closed crossings and put the citizen's national interest and sovereignty before any external pressures. We confirm that our people and their national and tribal forces have a decisive position in protecting the livelihood of the citizens and the sovereignty of the state. Badr Parliamentary Block, Baghdad, November 8, 2026.
