Stanford is teaching how to build artificial intelligence agents this fall, and the free slides online for the course is CS329Z, “Engineering Artificial Intelligence Agents. "Anyone can open the slides and the reading list on the course website, lecture by lecture. What it covers:
1. Retrieving, using tools and an agent loop built from scratch, and then how frameworks like DSPy do the same thing.
2. Agent memory, multi-agent systems and why they fail.
3. Optimization, data and evaluations: how to know if an agent is actually working.
4. Coming soon: Fireside chat with Andrew Ng on November 9th and with the creators of SWE-bench, now at Anthropic, on November 16th taught by Dee Young, Michael Ryan and John Young. New materials are uploaded as the lectures are happening, through final demos in December.
