Four Palestine Action activists who smashed the windows of the Barclays Bank branch in Burnley, England, in 2024 to pressure the bank about its financial ties to Israel Elbit Systems, were spared prison, and received a suspended sentence of 20 months to two years and unpaid work. The judge ruled that the damage does not meet the threshold for a terrorist connection. Barclays sold its Elbit shares two months after the operation.
