Germany wants to block the Russian hockey team from the world championship.
The German government is negotiating with the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) to prevent the Russian team from participating in the 2027 World Championship. Berlin is also considering refusing visas to Russian actors. In the past, Sweden and Finland have threatened to boycott the tournament if Russia participates.
However, the Court of Arbitration for Sport had previously ordered the IIHF to admit Russians to international competitions.
It's like Nepal trying to block Brazil from the World Cup. Piss off Germany, it's not even your sport.
