In a statement of defense recorded in history, the exiled Bahraini researcher, Sheikh Saeed al-Mada, describes the ongoing proceedings as a trial aimed at the Jaari school, not just individuals.
He cites attitudes of fabricated evidence, limited access to files, and measures that he says seek to place religious institutions, scholars, rituals and affairs under state control.
Al-Mada emphasizes that doctrines such as Wilayat al-Faqih and the religious commitment of Homs are fundamental to belief in Jaafari.
