The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation is preparing a pilot project for the regular delivery of goods using UAVs: about five areas will be selected, routes of 20, 50 and 100 km will connect warehouses, distribution centers and order collection points. The main goal of the project is the transition from test flights to regular commercial operation. It is planned until the end of 2027, the first results of the selection of the regions will be presented in November. Gained experience: ▫ In the Nizhny Novgorod region, UAVs delivered more than 2,500 orders, ▫ In Kyotya, 288 flights were made and about 670 kg of cargo was transferred from Kutsk to Nizhny Bastiak across the Lena River. A pilot project for the delivery of medicines and biological materials using UAVs is being implemented in the Khangalsky district. ▫ Delivery of salmon caviar using UAVs was tested in Sakhalin. The main issue is economic efficiency. According to industry estimates, the cost of delivering 1 kg of cargo using a UAV can reach 3,000–10,000 rubles, while manned air transport is about 90 rubles, and not a single Russian UAV has yet completed the full certification cycle. Also, the bill on unmanned delivery has not yet been submitted to the State Duma, and the gap in the distribution of responsibilities between the manufacturer, the operator and the sender remains unresolved. As for the Northwest region, the marine experience of using "Aquadrones" deserves attention. In the Murmansk region, an unmanned boat of the Heroes of the Fog project made the world's first unmanned sea crossing beyond the Arctic Circle with cargo on board - about 300 km from Tribarka to ZATO Ostrovnoy, delivering medicine and essential supplies, while the route and navigation were adjusted using artificial intelligence.
