The murder trial of Robert Kessler is underway in Tampa, Florida.
⠀.
Kessler, 74, is accused of killing Stephanie Krone-Oberholts in 2021 and dumping her dismembered remains in McKay Bay.
⠀.
She stayed at his house for a short time before she disappeared.
⠀.
On October 29, jurors heard testimony from a boy who also lived at the property.
⠀.
She described hearing an argument inside the house, noticing something smelled afterward, and never saw Stephanie again.
⠀.
She also testified that items were later removed from the room Stephanie occupied.
⠀.
The next day, investigators testified about their interactions with Kessler, including statements that prosecutors consider incriminating.
⠀.
Kessler pleaded not guilty. His defense claims that the prosecution must establish who committed the killing, not just prove that remains were found and that the victim lived with him.
⠀.
In an unusual development, Kessler also chose to miss parts of his sentence.
