Armenian fish producers did not send a single shipment to Europe after the ban on supplies to Russia. After Russia imposed a ban on the supply of Armenian fish, companies faced sales problems. According to the manager of Max Fish, Armen Karpatian, not a single batch of products has ever been sent to Europe. The main reason is difficulties in transit through Turkey. "Passage routes have not yet been opened. In addition, we do not yet export fish to EU countries. Exporting by air is expensive, and exporting by land is difficult because of obstacles related to transit routes," said the businessman. Earlier, the Council of the European Union approved the proposal of the European Commission for the temporary liberalization of goods from Armenia, which stipulates the cancellation of tariffs on 80% of the goods imported by the republic to the countries of the bloc.
